In order to begin the world of Ingot Alchemy, one must craft or obtain a cauldron. Once a cauldron enters your inventory, you will receive the advancement, PART I: Basic Alchemy. This marks the beginning of your adventure into the secrets of the universe. Make sure to keep your cauldron filled with water and over an active fire.

Part I
Beginning the basics of Alchemy.
Once entering PART I, you must set up a cauldron for basic alchemy. To prepare a cauldron, light a fire underneath and fill the cauldron with water. When complete, you can create the first item, the Glowing Ingot. To create the Glowing Ingot, drop an iron ingot and a piece of glowstone dust into the prepared cauldron. In return, you will receive two Glowing Ingots, the cauldron will be emptied, and you will receive the advancement, Glowing Beginnings.
|
There is three things you can make using the Glowing Ingots at first; Glowing Nuggets, Glowing Blocks, and the Ingot Alchemy Journal. The Ingot Alchemy Journal is an in-game guide for getting through the beginning parts of Ingot Alchemy, of course it has less detail. You can create it by throwing a Glowing Ingot and an unwritten book into a filled cauldron. The advancement Torn Notes will be given for creating the journal. Now for the Glowing Nuggets, they are crafted like your normal iron nuggets. The Glowing Nuggets first purpose is for making Modified Potions. Glowing Blocks will be used later.

Haste Modified Potion
Levitation Modified Potion
|
Modified PotionsWhen you brew one of the first four Modified Potions, you will receive the advancement, Simple Brewery. This unlocks a goal within the advancement tree, Rare Brews. To gain this advancement, one must brew each of the first four Modified Potions; Haste, Levitation, Wither, and Glowing. All recipes require a glass bottle, nether wart, a Glowing Nugget, and the item that defines the potion.

The Shadow ViewerUsing your new Modified Potions, you can create a magical tool to continue into PART II. You need to create the Shadow Viewer. The Shadow Viewer is made by throwing a blaze rod, two gold ingots, an eye of ender, and finally a Modified Potion of Glowing into a filled cauldron. If successful, the Shadow Viewer will be created and you will receive the advancement, PART II: Magical Tools. The Shadow Viewer is used in crafting items, configuring machines, and displaying stats about different creatures and blocks.

Part II
The baby steps to automation and improved tools.
With your new magical tool, the Shadow Viewer, you can create Infused Ingots. In order to do so, you need to craft a Glowing Ingot Block. To place the Glowing Ingot Block, just drop it onto the ground. Once converted into block form, the Shadow Viewer will be able to register the Glowing Ingot Block and tell you its current status. The Glowing Ingot Block is used, along with the Shadow Viewer, to craft the Infused Ingots. On top of the placed Glowing Ingot Block, drop an ender pearl, a piece of redstone, and a Glowing Ingot. Make sure all the items are on top and not to the side while being as close as possible to the center. If the items are too far from the center of the Glowing Ingot Block, it may not work. After the items are resting atop the Glowing Ingot Block, hold your Shadow Viewer to begin the crafting process. If the correct items are dropped and you are within five blocks of the Glowing Ingot Block, the status will change from "Invalid Recipe" to "Crafting." The crafting process takes five seconds to complete and you'll receive the advancement Increased Powers.

Magical Wands and Charms
The advancement tree branches into two sections, Wands and Charms. It is required to complete both advancement trees to learn the advance knowledge of how these tools works. You can use this new knowledge in the production of machines, but that is for later. Click one of the buttons below to view that tree of guide dialog.
Wands are the first set of tools that you can use to help improve life. Each wand uses a Wand Core and Redstone Dust as a base in the crafting recipe along with two items that represents the wand's ability. Another important factor is the wand's quality, which controls the wand's effectiveness in terms of cooldown, range, and chance-rates. To begin, you need to craft a Wand Core which requires a stick, two prismarine shards, an ender pearl, and an Infused Ingot. Once crafted, you will gain the advancement Handle on Things. Now it is time to begin crafting some wands. You will need to use the Glowing Ingot Block with your Shadow Viewer to craft the wands. Once a wand is crafted, there is a 4/5 chance that it will be Faulty quality and a 1/5 chance for Common quality. For more information about quality, click the button below the Wand Core recipe. After creating your first wand you will receive the advancement, Becoming a Wizard. Listed below are the different wands with information regarding what it does, what is required, how to craft it, and how its quality affects performance.

The Wands
Wand of NurturingThe Wand of Nurturing grows crops at an increased rate with a range of 7x7 with the player in the middle. The following crops are affected by the Wand of Nurturing; carrots, potatoes, beet root, nether wart, melon stems, pumpkin stems, and wheat. To create the wand, drop a Wand Core, redstone dust, a golden apple, and a bone block on top of a Glowing Ingot Block with your Shadow Viewer in your main hand. When holding the Wand of Nurturing, a status message will display stating whether you have any bone blocks within your inventory. If no bone blocks are found, the wand will not function. When a successful activation occurs, a single bone block with be consumed with some fancy particles. The quality affects the cooldown of the wand.
|
Wand of YearningThe Wand of Nurturing compels all animals nearby to breed. To craft the wand, drop a Wand Core, redstone dust, a diamond, and a glistering melon on top of a Glowing Ingot Block with your Shadow Viewer in your main hand. When holding the wand, a status message will display stating whether you have any glistering melons within your inventory. If none are found, the wand will not activate. With every successful run, a glistering melon will be consumed with some fancy particles. The wand's quality determines the cooldown rate and range. Faulty has a range of 2 blocks around the player and Divine having a range of 7 blocks around the player.

Quality
Does quality truly matter? For Ingot Alchemy it does.
The quality system is only used for items that have special properties, like Wands, Charms, and Upgrades. There are six different levels to the quality system, with each increasing number making the item or machine more efficient. When creating items that have a quality factor, they most likely begin with Faulty quality. Faulty quality is the lowest, but the item does has a chance to have Common quality when created. To tell what quality the item is, check for the light blue colored text within the lore. The level's name along with it's quality ID is listed. The following levels of quality are as follows; Faulty, Common, Decent, Outstanding, Legendary, and finally Divine. Upgrading is different for Wands, Charms, and Upgrades.
